Parents and students are requested to carefully read all the instructions given in the application forms and adhere to the same strictly. Every application must be accompanied by necessary documents. Incomplete applications and failure to append the stipulated may lead to rejection. The relevant University guidelines are given herein.
Prospectus and Application forms for all courses are available at the College as well as at the Corporate Office. Kindly ensure that you fill in absolutely correct details. In the event it is found that, a candidate has furnished incorrect information.
1.He / She will forfeit the admission irrespective of what stage of the course He / She
is in at that point of time.
2.He / She will be debarred from pursuing any course of studies.
3.Legal action will be initiated against him / her for furnishing wrong information.

QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION:
A pass in HSC (Academic) with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry. (Or) a pass in HSC (vocational) with engineering Technology & one or two of the related subjects from Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry only. (Or) a pass in Diploma Examination in Engineering from state board of Technical Education & Training, TamilNadu. (Or) any other qualification accepted as equivalent by Anna University & Government of TamilNadu. Any change made by Govt. of TamilNadu/ AICTE/ Court Order regarding eligibility of marks & fee will be adopted.

COLLEGE RULES AND REGULATIONS
COLLEGE TIMINGS: 8.30.A.M. To 3.30.p.m. Students are not permitted to enter into the campus after 8.10 a.m. and are not allowed to leave the college before 3.40 p.m. Visitors are strictly not allowed during the college hours.
TRANSPORT:All the students should come either in the college bus or stay in the hostel. We are operating buses for the student's convenience and he/she can board the bus at his/her nearest boarding point. All the buses will leave the campus at 3.40.p.m. Students are not allowed to come by MTC buses/motor bikes/cars to the college.
ATTENDANCE AND LEAVE REGULATIONS: We insist on minimum of 90% attendance for the theory classes and 100% attendance for the laboratory classes. Point System is followed and each student is allowed to avail of not more than 8 points in a semester. Leave letter with Parent’s signature or leave accompanied by Medical certificate for 1 day without permission is considered as 2 points
RAGGING:
Every student entering this institution must bear in mind that any form of ragging is dealt with strictly and any violation whatsoever will be dealt with summary dismissal coupled with action as per law. Students are earnestly advised to desist from this barbaric practice that is indulged in by a few students in the name of fun. The college organizes fellowship programs and students are asked to familiarize themselves with incoming students in these programs.
Dress code:
i. Dress code for Boys:
All the students in the campus should be neatly dressed. All the boys should wear self-colored pants and checked or plain shirts neatly tucked in. The boys are not supposed to wear slippers or sports shoes. only leather shoes are to be worn by them. Jeans and T-Shirts are strictly not allowed inside the campus. The boys should be clean-shaved with a decent haircut.
ii. Dress code for Girls:
All girls Should wear churidhar with pinned duppatta.Slit in the churidhar should not be more than 10 inches above knee level. Hair Coloring, Bleaching will not be entertained for the students.
The following dress code should be followed in the Lab/Workshop.
Dress Code for the Physics, Chemistry, Computer, Electronics labs for both boys and girls will be long white over coat with leather shoes.
Dress Code for Basic workshop, and all Electrical Labs for both boys and girls will be Green pants and green half sleeved shirt with leather shoes.
BADGE: Each student will be provided with his/her name and photo. They should wear their badge while they are inside the campus and in the bus. The identity badge is also a library token. Without the ID, the students are not allowed to enter/access the library.
CALENDAR:College provides a calendar to every student. All information pertaining to the college like the number of working days/holidays, class, Mid-semester, Model Exams, College celebrations and functions, etc., are included in the calendar and affix their signature in it. The college follows the day order system.
STUDENT’S ACADEMIC RECORD BOOKS: This should be maintained carefully. Mid semester, model & University exam marks are entered in this book and the parents must sign in it. The record books should be maintained for the full four years of study in the college.
STUDENTS COUNSELLORS: Each and every student will be having a counselor. He/She will be responsible for all the academic activities for the entire year. Students can approach them for his/her academic needs.
Following tests are conducted in a semester and the results are sent to the parents periodically. Parents are kindly requested to note these results and follow up the academic performance of their wards. They are requested to feel free themselves and spend their time to have discussion with the student counsellors. Absence for mid semester and model exams will be viewed very seriously. Failed students in the mid semester and model exams should attend special classes and submit the assignment.

.Change of Address:
If there is any change in the address, it should be informed to the respective student's attendance in-charge by the parents. Boarding point in the ID card should be changed immediately.
Mode of Conveyance:
Students should come to the college by our college buses only. Hence parents are kindly requested not to provide two wheelers or any vehicles to your ward to come to the college.
HOSTEL RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. No night stay in local guardian's house. If necessary this can be availed only by the letter from the parents and will be allowed to go out only with their parents. For the local guardian's home visit and for the visit to the home town-parents are requested to send the letter directly to us.
2. Permission will not be given for tuition and computer classes outside.
3. For any misbehavior or misconduct, students will not be allowed to continue in the hostel.
4. Without getting permission and not returning in time will be seriously viewed and will not be granted any further permission.
5. When parents come to Chennai for any other purpose, they can come and pick up their wards, but should not make phone call to ask the students to come to the place where they are staying.
6. For own sister's/brother's marriage or any other family function, parents have to send the letter directly to the office and get the permission.
7. Other than the parents and authorized local guardians, nobody will be allowed to see their wards and the above said visitors should report to the office, and then see their ward in the reception only. They should not chat inside the car without permission. Students should not take their friends along with them to see their visitors. Visitor time is from 3.30.p.m. to 6.p.m. only.
8. We are not encouraging the phone call from anybody other than parents and authorized local guardians.
9. During the working days all the hostel students should leave the hostel before 7.30 a.m.
10.Those who want to apply leave for medical reasons have to get the permission only from the Principal or from the attendance in charge.
11. Study Hours: 6.p.m. to 8 p.m. in the hostel blocks.
12. Silence Hours: From 11.00 p.m. to 6 a.m. Students must be in their room only and not allowed to stay or chat in others rooms.
13. No utensils such as tumblers, plates, etc., are allowed to be carried to the rooms from the mess.
14.All the hostel students may avail DHOBI,MEDICAL & BARBER facilities at free of cost.
15. The hostel fee is for the whole year, if a student wants to leave the hostel in the middle of the year for any reasons no refund will be made on any account.
16. Students are requested to keep their rooms, including toilets clean.
17. Letter addressed to the students should bear the room number also. Parents are requested to note this. Letters are allowed only from the parents.
18. If there is any electrical fault or water leakage or blocking of pipes, the same should be recorded by the students in the logbook kept for this purpose in the hostel office. Action for repair will be taken on receipt of the report of the student. Students are not permitted to keep any electrical & electronics items like RADIO, HEATERS, IRONBOX including WALKMAN, TRANSISTOR etc with them.
19.Visitors for Hosteller's-Only parents and local guardian will be allowed.
20.Local Guardian:
This is the clarification about the role of local guardian they are appointed as local guardian to look after the student welfare, moral support and visit them in the hostel. They are not empowered to take the student to their house or call them over the phone to take the student to their house.

The Application & Prospectus can be obtained from the Administrative Office on payment of Rs. 250/- in person or Rs.300/- By Post either by cash or D.D. drawn in favour of SRR Engineering College-Admission.
